Can I use Shipmate on the cruise ship without WiFi?

The app was built so that it automatically recognizes when you have network access, and the available features will adjust based on whether or not you’re online. Interactive features, such as the newsfeed, photos, chat, and direct messaging will not work without WiFi and an internet plan on a cruise ship.
We understand that the internet on ships is pretty expensive so Shipmate gives you the ability to download your cruise information so that you can access your itinerary, deck maps, and port-related information without an internet connection. To download this information:
  1. Select your cruise from My Cruises.
  2. Turn on the "Download for offline use" toggle.

Please make sure to do this when connected to WiFi or with an unlimited mobile data plan, since a large amount of information may be downloaded.
