Why is My E-mail Showing As private appleID?

Q: Why is my email address showing as a private Apple ID email (e.g., @privaterelay.appleid.com ), and how can I change it?


On the Web:

  1. Visit the account settings page of the service or app where you're seeing the private email (e.g., https://cruiseline.com/settings/profile for CruiseLine).
  2. Log in to your account using your existing credentials.
  3. Go to the Email Address or Profile section.
  4. Replace the @privaterelay.appleid.com address with your preferred email address.
  5. Save your changes.

On Your Apple Device:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap your name to open Apple ID settings.
  3. Go to Passwords & Security > Apps Using Apple ID.
  4. Select the app or service where the private email is being used.
  5. Toggle off Hide My Email, or select Forward To and input your real email.

Within the Shipmate Application:

If you're using an app like Shipmate, follow these steps:

  1. Tap Profile in the app.
  2. Select Edit Profile.
  3. Update your email address directly in the profile settings.
